a truly fun fair

The past two months have been filled with endless planning for little L's school fun fair.   Back in March when the email from the PAC president went out asking if anyone wanted to coordinate the fair this year, I thought, sure, I'll do it.  Little did I know just how much work it was going to be.  There were lots of new ideas to explore and in very little time.  I actually started feeling like I was planning a wedding all over again. Except that the guest list was much greater and the budget much smaller.

In the end it was the best fun fair EVER!  We had a marimba band, 4Cats art studio, Mr. Mikes, outdoor races, bouncy castles, cake walks, prize booths, a talent show and loads more including a giant chess set.  It was such a success and the best reward was seeing the beaming faces of all the kids that were having the time of their lives.  And the best part is all the money we raised goes back into the school to help pay for monthly swimming trips to the pool, extra science and art supplies for each classroom, materials for our outdoor classroom and so much more!

A big thank you goes out to all the parents who volunteered their time in big ways and small, it all made for such a wonderful experience.  I also want to do a big shout out to 4cats art studio.  They donated so much of their time and materials including all that we needed for our banner painting workshop.  They were so wonderful to have at the fair and we are so lucky to have them in our community.

Two kids who were so excited about winning ribbons from the field races.

Thank you Red Balloon Toy Shop for letting us use your amazing chess set!

It is amazing what can happen when a few parents get together and get involved in their child's school.  It may have been a lot of work, but it was absolutely worth it.  Thank you everyone!
